| It's interesting how everything is so connected.
I'm not really going to explain that, I'm just going to say it.
First and foremost I have to say that lately, I've been questioning my beliefs more than ever. I haven't learned anything new, I've just been unable to suppress the confusion I have like I could before. I always knew that there were some things I didn't want to think about and now, more than ever, I am.
On a nicer note, I've been quite into some music I have heard as well as some I haven't heard before now. I'll list some of my current favorites.
1. Norah Jones I've rediscovered this fantastically talented songstress and she is responsible for the next two entries in this list. I love her, she is amazing.
2. El Madmo This is a wonderful indie/punk band fronted by Norah Jones in a ridiculous super heroish outfit. Some key tracks include, "Head in a Vice", "Attack of the Rock People", "Fantasy Guy", and "Carlo!". It's basically Norah Jones at her most Un-Norah Jonesyness. I loooooove it.
3. Little Willies Yet another incarnation of Norah Jones. Norah joins her bassist and boyfriend, Lee Alexander for a bunch of fun country covers and a few originals. At the end of "Lou Reed" we're treated to a hilarious conversation between two witnesses of Lou Reed cow tipping and in "Gotta Get Drunk" (Willie Nelson) we're treated to the line "There's a lotta doctors that tell me I better stop putting it down, but there's more drunks than there are good doctors so I guess I better have another round".
4. The Dismemberment Plan I was first introduced to them by their cover version of the bubbly pop song "Crush" by Jennifer Paige. It was a long slow minimalist acoustic song that made me feel I was listening to someone intelligent. The next song I heard of theirs was on a 13 track compilation that featured the next band on my list. This song also gave me the feeling I was listening to someone intelligent but this time came in a more of a pop rock package. I decided to buy one of their LP's, I searched long and hard and finally found one at Record and Tape Traders. I was shocked to find them sounding more like Primus than your typical indie band. I think I love it... I'm not sure. But one of my all time favorite bands it up next...
5. Pedro the Lion I love Pedro the Lion, there's really no way I could cover everything about this band. I think that I can listen all the way through Winners Never Quit, Control, or It's Hard to Find A Friend and not need to skip a single song. I love this band. Even their last album Achilles Heel is pretty good with an amazing song called "The Fleecing" that has been very dear to my heart lately. I just love Pedro the Lion, I don't even feel like I need to say why, and I hope you can learn to love them too.
Love, Thomas |

| Is in the past I think. I don't know what more there is to be done. I think I'm going to live until death do I part from the earth. |
